ANSWERS TO YOUR

fREQUENTLY aSKED qUESTIONS

Is therapy right for me?

Therapy can enhance your life. It benefits anyone looking to improve their well-being. The key factor for successful therapy is you, the client. It requires courage, commitment, and vulnerability. If you’re ready to learn about yourself, overcome obstacles, develop healthier habits, and improve relationships, we are here to help.

How long are sessions?

Sessions are typically 50 minutes in length.

How often do we meet?

Typically, sessions occur once per week. You and your therapist may decide to increase or decrease the frequency of visits depending on progress and need.

How long will I be in therapy?

Treatment length varies by issue and goals. Brief therapy may last three to five sessions, while longer therapy can extend for years. We will work together to decide on a duration that is clinically appropriate and suits your needs.

What if I’m running late to my appointment?

Your appointment time is reserved for you, so as soon as you arrive, we will begin the session and use whatever time is left.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or change your appointment. A charge of $60 applies for cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance.

What is the difference in talking to you versus talking to a friend?

The therapy relationship is distinct. Your therapist offers unbiased support, providing perspectives that others in your life cannot. Attending therapy is a commitment to self-care without fear of oversharing or privacy concerns.
